300 miles!

Thursday night's run pushed me over the edge ...

... over the edge to 300 miles trained for the Gasparilla Marathon!! Whee!

I'm sitting here at work on a Saturday night, ready to keel over. I was asked to work last week, proofing pages for the copy desk. It's nothing difficult or anything, but I did wake up at 3:45 this morning to run 17 miles and then a few of us helped Colette move into her new house. I napped for, oh, 45 minutes, and then I had to come to work at 8. Joy!

I betcha I'll sleep well tonight. ;)

Today's 17 miler was tough. Well, that's not entirely true. The first 13 miles were great, and then I just wanted it to be over. We might have gone out a little bit too fast, not too much, but just enough to tire me faster than normal. My feet and ankles got the brunt of today's run, and I actually caught myself running on the balls of my feet for the last half mile because my heels hurt so much.

Other than my feet, the rest of my body feels pretty good. My cardiovascular system is superb right now; I'm barely winded anymore, and I'm running fast, not slow. So, yay to that.

I have 5 miles to run Monday, and I know right now it will be a recovery run. Oh yes.

Today's mileage: 17
This week's total mileage: 31
